Abstract
Komunikacijske satelitske povezave postavljamo in uporabljamo s ciljem, da se v prihodnje zadosti vse večjim komunikacijskim potrebam. To želimo doseči s pošiljanjem signala najboljše kakovosti, z najnižjo porabo pasovne širine in moči ter z uporabo najpreprostejše in najprimernejše strojne opreme. Za namene doseganja teh ciljev se dandanes načrtovanje komunikacijskih satelitskih sistemov preusmerja iz geostacionarne tirnice v nižje zemeljske tirnice, kjer se signal najboljše kakovosti izvede z manjšo močjo, z nižjimi zakasnitvami in manjšo verjetnostjo napak. Pri konstelacijskem sistemu majhnih satelitov je ob zasnovi zaželeno, da se zmanjšata zapletenost in stroški implementacije predlaganega sistema, da se zmanjša potrebna prenosna moč, ki se pretvori v zahtevano razmerje med signalom in šumom, in da se zmanjša uporabljeni frekvenčni spekter, oz. da se frekvence ponovno uporabijo. V diplomskem delu je predstavljeno satelitsko širokopasovno komunikacijsko omrežje Starlink, ki ga razvija ameriško podjetje SpaceX. Poglavitni namen diplomske naloge je natančno prikazati tehnične lastnosti omrežja Starlink, ki jih podjetje SpaceX ponavadi ne razkriva v javno dostopnih predstavitvah. Hkrati pa so v delu komentirane glavne tehnične značilnosti tega zelo posebnega segmenta širokopasovnih komunikacijskih omrežij, osnovanih na konstelacijskem omrežju tehnologije majhnih satelitov.

Title:Starlink Small Satellite Communication Network
Abstract:
Communication satellite connections are set up and used with the aim of meeting the enormous communication needs in the future. We want to achieve this by both sending the best quality signal with the lowest bandwidth and power and using the simplest and most suitable hardware. In order to achieve these goals the design of communication satellite systems is nowadays shifting from a geostationary orbit to a low Earth orbit, where the best quality signal is executed with less power, less delays and reduced error probability. In the case of a small satellite constellation system it is preferable to reduce the proposed system complexity, implementation costs, the required transmission power, which is converted into a signal-to-noise ratio, as well as the frequency spectrum, or to reuse the frequencies. In the diploma thesis the Starlink satellite broadband communication network, developed by the American company SpaceX, is presented. The main purpose of the thesis is to show in detail the technical features of the Starlink network that SpaceX does not usually disclose in populist presentations. Furthermore, the main technical features of this very special segment of broadband communication networks based on the constellation network of small satellite technology are discussed.
