The bachelor’s thesis Phraseological Units in Selected Grimm’s Fairy tales and Their Slovene Translations discusses the fields of phraseology. I have chosen phraseological units out of the selected German fairy tales (The Brave Little Tailor, The Wishing-Table, Town Musicians of Bremen, The Wolf and the Seven Young Goats) and compared them to the Slovene translations of Fran Albreht (1969) and Polonca Kovač (1993).
The first, theoretical part focuses on phraseology as a branch of linguistics. The crucial characteristics and phraseological technical terms are presented with the help of secondary sources, and I explain the function of phraseological units in the fairy tales. As the thesis focuses on the comparison between translation, the typical features of translating of phraseological unites are also discussed.
I am interested, whether the authors have successfully detected the phraseological units and thus the second, empirical part focuses on the analysis of the phraseological units.
