The purpose of this thesis is to draw attention to the stress among employees who work
with older people in home for older people. We assesed the prevalence of stress among
employees in such a work environment. I would like to draw attention to the issue of stress in
working with the older people and the importance of resolving such issues, as it affects not
only employee satisfaction, but also the quality of care for the older people and their
satisfaction. The survey was quantitative, conducted after the survey questionnaire. 37
employees of the Črnuče Center for the Older people participated in the research. Data
collection took place in person in June 2020. The survey showed that from the consequences
of emotional work, respondents most often feel stress; they often feel the strain of work due to
daily contact with chemicals; most often there is an increased workload at work due to
excessive workload; most often for the respondents stress represents the scope of work; in
their free time, they most often relax by talking to family and friends while at work by
thinking about time outside of their working hours when something beautiful awaits them.
Based on the obtained results, we made suggestions for improving the situation.
