This paper investigates the relationship between paparazzi and celebrities in Slovenia, which is in certain views slightly different than abroad. Its goal is to determine to what extent paparazzi ethically violate celebrities' privacy and to what extent they contribute to their self-promotion and exposure. The paper examines work obligations of Slovene paparazzi, ethical boundaries in privacy violation and the impact of digitalisation on the relationship between paparazzi and celebrities. The research is qualitative and carried out using the semi-structured in-depth interview method with Slovene paparazzi or photographers, who also take photos of celebrities. Based on the interviewees' answers, it was determined that work obligations of Slovene paparazzi in the past were similar to work obligations of foreign paparazzi, they only earned less, while nowadays there are no real paparazzi in Slovenia. More and more celebrity photos are prearranged and agree upon in advance. The work of paparazzi has been severely undermined by digitalisation, social networks in particular.
