The ways to improve and invent new products would probbably be much longer and more difficult without 3D printing technology. One of many fields that has benefited from 3D technologies is sport. One particular sport equipment is the central topic of this diploma thesis.
In this diploma thesis we made composable kite board prototypes with 3D modeling and 3D printing, presented the whole production process, defined the print quality and quality of the product itself.
In the theoretical part of the thesis there is a short description of 3D technologies and materials, a short review of 3D printing used in sport board production and also a presentation of most common deformations and problems that can occur while using a FDM (fused deposition modeling) technology. This particular technology is the one we used in our experimental part of diploma. In that part we presented all the equipment and materials used, thoroughly described the modelling process, explained how to prepare models for printing and analysed printing results.
