Due to the established free movement of goods, services and people, the European Union is paying increasing attention to migration management, and is developing policies based on democracy and protection of human rights and fundamental freedom. Although there is no repressive rhetoric while developing these policies, in practice there are problems in the Member States of the European Union that persons with international protection face, repressive measures have a significant impact on the granting of international protection and on the future integration process.
The newest solution of the European Union on this field is the development of a common asylum policy, valid for all Member States, which would eliminate repressive practices, unite the implementation and granting of international protection and tackle the integration issues. After presenting asylum policy and placing it among other European Union policies, we conducted a detailed analysis of the provision of international protection in the three selected countries that are members of the European Union. We further linked asylum policy to the issue of integration, and based on the MIPEX application, collected and compared data for policy areas that are important for successful integration. The descriptive method, the comparative method, and the analysis method helped to critically research the topic. Based on the analysis and comparison, we found that the European Union will have to invest in security policy and integration policy, focusing on the introduction of multicultural dialogue, and above all will have to protect and pursue its ideology of democracy and liberalism in all policy areas. In order to achieve the objectives, it will be necessary to encourage cooperation between the Member States of the European Union and to introduce the same practices and fair procedures.
