The master's thesis is a monographic work written to be a kayak guide for selected Slovenian rivers. The purpose of this guide is to introduce individual paddling segments of rivers to both beginners and experienced kayakers. Domestic and foreign sources served as the basis of our research.
The guide presents twenty-six segments on twelve different Slovenian rivers. It also describes the geographical characteristics of each individual river, the put in and take out points of individual segments, their difficulty and illustrations of paddling lines with descriptions and pictures. Rapids that reach level III on the difficulty scale were given special attention in the form of a pictorial representation of their paddling lines. Slovenian names were used for rapids on selected rivers for easier and better recognition.
The kayak guide for selected Slovenian rivers is intended for a wide range of users: from individuals who are just getting to know white-water kayaking to extreme white-water kayakers and also sports workers, sports pedagogues in primary and secondary schools and for sports pedagogues who are active in CŠOD (Center for Curricular and Extracurricular Activities) in Slovenia.
