The aim of this diploma thesis is to improve field of testing and upgrading psychophysical preparedness of soldiers in Slovenian Armed Forces. Theoretical frame describes recommendations from experts on the topic, the study then continues with analysis on current procedures in Slovenian army and comparison to the modern approaches. For better review of the current procedures referring psychophysical preparedness during basic military training in Slovenian Armed Forces, I conducted a survey with those who recently participated in basic military training which helped me to identify some challenges and find solutions. Problems that occur regarding those procedures in Slovenian Armed Forces are appearing on the field of fitness test for those who try to join the army because it hasn't been updated for a long period of time and as such is not compatible with recommendations from experts. Some problems also appeared in process of upgrading psychophysical preparedness during basic military training, especially because of monotony, inefficient training process and regeneration. Despite that, diploma thesis shows that Slovenian Armed Forces in some cases successfully adapt to modern approaches regarding upgrading psychophysical preparedness.
