In the thesis we want to check whether it is possible to connect two issue-tracking systems and thus optimize communication in a small software development company. In the first part of the thesis, we have made a general overview of the field of communication in a small software development company and highlighted potential communication trouble with the client.
In the second part of the thesis, we have focused on the issue-tracking systems and provided a brief overview of free solutions. We have also examined the possibility of connecting systems with each other and have come up with an idea for an application which connects the Jira systems of the customer and the contractor. The idea has been realized.
The main part of the thesis focuses on the methods of connecting two Jira systems, the design and implementation of the application.
We have presented the implementation using the REST API and web hooks. In the final part of the thesis, we have pointed out some of the problems we have encountered and have presented possible improvements and expansions of the application.
