The master's thesis deals with the issue of preparing employees for work abroad. Constant globalization and internationalization have a strong impact on companies workforce and operations. The expansion of the market means the new entrance of labor into a foreign environment, which places an additional burden on human resource management in terms of employee management. Preparing an employee before leaving for a foreign branch of the company requires planned education, training, exchange of experiences and constant monitoring. Many companies do not invest enough financial resources and time for the purpose of establishing successful and extensive programs to prepare employees for work abroad. In view of this issue, in my master's thesis, I am researching the process of preparing employees before, during and after the posting abroad in three Slovenian multinational firms. More specifically, I try to explore the strategies, methods, and approaches of preparing in each organization and find any shortcomings. I compare preparation of workers in this companies and I give my own suggestions for improvements. The research method is based on semi-structured interviews with representatives of human resources departments in companies.
