This bachelor thesis deals with the creation of the womenswear collection which is a result of a personal interpretation of artwork done by a pair of American authors named Edward Kienholz and Nancy Reddin Kienholz.
The theoretical part of the thesis presents the artists Kienholz and their works, the aesthetics and theme of which express a satirical reflection as a comment on the society of the second half of the twentieth century. The meaning of satire, which is in art and fashion expressed through humor and irony, is defined on the basis of examples and their explanations.
In the experimental part, the source of inspiration behind the design and realization process of the clothing collection is dealt with in more detail. The purpose of the collection, which is based on the satirical approach, was to create a contemporary and interesting collection with humorous characteristics.
The result of the bachelor thesis is a modern and unique women’s clothing collection, which is not intended for mass production. By entering satirical details and elements what is added is authorial intent and communicative note which makes the collection distinct and recognizable.
