The EU maintains a clean environment with the so-called environmental policy pursued by the EU through European cohesion policy. European cohesion policy is important in reducing differences between countries and regions, economic growth, and social problems, in particular environmental protection. A part of the utilization of funds is also an evaluation.
The work is designed to analyze literature and resources in the field of absorption of European cohesion policy resources and their impact on environmental infrastructure in Slovenia. The aim of the work is to show the achievements, advantages and disadvantages of the drawings so far, and the possible progress in the field more precisely, to make suggestions on how to make better use of the resources at our disposal and how to evaluate the implemented projects more effectively and realistically. The findings are reached through methods of researching and analyzing literature and data. The key findings are the weaknesses of the evaluation, which are poorly defined, non-uniform indicators, lack of, conflicting or poor quality data, as well as the fact that the effects are not defined, but implemented projects are cite as achievements. The solutions are thus reflected in better data access, better data quality, uniform and carefully selected indicators for all Member States. Only then will we be able to present a comprehensive picture of the progress made in the field and the relationship between inputs and outputs.
Master's thesis can, however, be used as a basis for changes and improvements in the evaluation of European cohesion policy, notably in environmental infrastructure.
