Abstract
Uvod: V diplomskem delu je predstavljena zdravstvena veda ortotika in protetika ter program dodiplomskega študija ortotike in protetike na različnih univerzah v državah Evropske unije. Namen: Namen diplomskega dela je vpogled v oblike in vsebine dodiplomskih študijskih programov na različnih univerzah v Evropski uniji. Primerjalno predstavljeni vpisni pogoji, vsebine in cilji dodiplomskega študija ortotike in protetike ter možnosti vpisa za tuje študente nudijo osnovo za izobraževanje v državah Evropske unije. Metode dela: Diplomsko delo temelji na pregledu razpoložljive relevantne literature in virov v angleškem in slovenskem jeziku. Rezultati: Rezultati raziskave nudijo primerjavo dodiplomskih študijskih programov ortotike in protetike glede na organizacijo, vpisne pogoje, trajanje, vsebine, načine izvajanja študijskega programa, višino šolnine in možnosti podiplomskega strokovnega usposabljanja. Razprava in zaključek: Pregled literature kaže, da se v Evropi že dolgo izvajajo dodiplomski programi ortotike in protetike, ki povezujejo medicinske znanosti z najnovejšo tehnologijo, uvajajo protetike in ortotike v raziskovalno delo in z dokazi podprto klinično prakso. Evalvacija in primerjava teh programov potrjuje, da so diplomanti ortotike in protetike samostojni strokovnjaki in enakopravni člani zdravstvenega tima, ki se lahko zaposlujejo v klinični praksi, izobraževalnih ustanovah, ali se vključujejo v raziskovalno delo, ter tako prispevajo k nadaljnjemu razvoju poklica in stroke.

Title:The comparison of bachelor studies of orthotics and prosthetics in the European Union : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: The diploma work presents the orthotics and prosthetics health sciences and the programme of undergraduate studies of orthotics and prosthetics at various universities in the European Union member states. Purpose: The purpose of the diploma work is to review the different forms and contents of the undergraduate study programmes at various universities in the European Union. The enrolment conditions, contents and goals of compared undergraduate programmes of orthotics and prosthetics are presented along with the study opportunities for foreign students Methods: The literature review of available relevant literature and resources in the English and Slovene language was employed in the research. Results: The results of the research provide an insight into the undergraduate study programmes of orthotics and prosthetics and their comparison according to the organization, enrolment conditions, duration, content, implementation the study programme, the tuition fees and the possibilities of postgraduate professional training. Discussion and conclusion: The systematic review of the relevant literature shows that undergraduate programmes of orthotics and prosthetics, which combine medical science with the latest technology, enable future orthotics and prosthetics to gain knowledge and experience with evidence based clinical practice and provide them with the competences to participate in the research. The evaluation and comparison of these programmes confirm that orthotics and prosthetics graduates are independent experts and equal members of the healthcare team who can be employed in clinical settings, educational institutions or research, thus contributing to further development of the profession.
