The program of intensive monitoring of forests in Slovenia started at the beginning of 2004, when eleven such plots were established. On these plots several parameters % meteorological, among others % are constantly or occasionally monitored. Unfortunately, with time, some of the plots have been abandoned, while some of them have been established anew. Therefore, we only had information available from eight plots. First, we organized all the data and then we calculated the most important statistical parameters for further processing. We compared precipitation in the open with the nearest meteorological station. The results show that, on average, there was less rain on the permanent plots than on ARSO stations, with the exception of Borovec, Tratice, and Lontovţ. We also compared precipitation in the open with throughfall. In most cases, the results indicated between 15 % and 20 % less throughfall on plots, with the exception of the plots Brdo (101,9 %), where there was even more throughfall than in the open. We measured the stem flow on four permanent plots only, namely Borovec (7,7 %), Fondek (11,3 %), Lontovţ (14,3 %), and Tratice (2,0 %). The results of stem flow are comparable with other studies.
