The diploma thesis describes the development, fabrication and measurement of the interface between Art-Net and DMX512 protocols. The interface enables the management of a theatre lightning technology with DMX protocol for all devices connected to the local Ethernet network. However, if there is also a wireless router on the network, wireless smart devices such as mobile phones and tablets can also be used for this purpose. The interface greatly simplifies and introduces a completely new way of managing theatrical lighting, while also presenting an interesting and innovative lighting management solution in smart homes.
The thesis first presents both protocols in detail at all levels of their operation. The following describes the design of the interface, from the schematics to the device in the housing. Finally, the test results and plans for further development and improvements follows. The first version of the developed device described in this thesis works as expected and is already suitable for use in semi-professional theatres.
