Introduction: In comparison with classic prosthesis, implant supported prosthesis provide better retention, stabilization and unloading of mucosa in toothless part of the jaw. It has been proven that implant supported prostheses reduce resorption of alveolar ridge and improve patient comfort. Purpose: The main purpose of this diploma work is to demonstrate and show advantages of implant supported dental prosthesis in comparison with classic prosthesis. Described are theoretical principles of masticatory forces transfer. Laboratory procedures of creation of the implant supported dental prosthesis on the upper jaw using Locator® system and Smart Fix␢ concept on the lower jaw using individual bar are described on a clinical case. Individual bar purpose is to increase the support and retention of prosthesis while providing rigid connection between implants. Methods: A systematic review of Slovenian and foreign scientific literature was done for the theoretical part of the diploma work. Manufacturing process of implant supported prosthesis on a clinical case is described. Results: Diploma work presents key manufacturing stages of implant supported prosthesis in upper and lower jaw on various attachments. Discussion and conclusion: Implant supported dental prostheses have numerous advantages when comparing to classic prostheses. They provide successful rehabilitation in clinical cases in which the use of regular prostheses is impossible. Studies also show greater level of fulfilment when implant supported prostheses was chosen.
