The following thesis investigates how the airflow in the extrusion process affects the mechanical properties and evenness of the extruded aluminum profiles of alloys EN AW 6060 and EN AW 6063. For research purposes, five profiles of different dimensions and shapes were selected. Three of these profiles were made from alloy EN AW 6060 and two from alloy EN AW 6063. The airflow settings were set up manually during the extrusion process itself. At the same time, we pursued the following technological parameters: extrusion temperature, exit profile temperatures and extrusion speed. Particular attention was given to the effect of quenching on the profile evenness and is further evaluated in the discussion section. The fabricated specimens were sent for further mechanical testing. The results of the mechanical tests are evaluated and show how the air flow affects the yield strength, tensile strength, elongation, and hardness of extruded profiles.
