The master's thesis entitled Plays for young audiences in the Slovene national theatre Drama Ljubljana in the past and present is made of theoretical part, which is more historically based and empirical, in which the most attention is paid to the repertoire of the Slovenian National Theater Drama Ljubljana (hereinafter: SNG Drama Ljubljana) in the time of Paul Golia and after, the connection of Slovenian elementary, secondary schools and high schools with theaters in general and with SNG Drama Ljubljana, and how young people are included in theatre.
For research, how the plays for young audiences were included in the repertoire since 1919, I used the archive of data at SNG Drama Ljubljana, Sigledal - Slovenian portal for theatre and the interviews with employees in Drama – director Igor Samobor, theatre pedagogue Špela Šinigoj and dramaturg Mojca Kranjc. In order to determine the connection between schools and theatre and vice versa, and the attitude towards theatre, a questionnaire was used, which showed that schools resist theatres, in this case, SNG Drama Ljubljana, and vice versa, SNG Drama Ljubljana organizes events, competitions, performs current performances and proms.
