In this study, we discuss the fundamental basics of titanium and its alloys, physical properties and usage in industry. We discuss different welding methods of titanium and its alloys, the correct preliminary preparation of material before welding and the significance of cleanliness on the surface of material. In the experimental part of this study we examine the role of hydrogen in titanium alloy weldments. We used TIG welding process with different shielding gasses which consisted of 0 %, 2.2 % and 7 % of hydrogen presence in argon inert gas. Our flow of shielding gasses was constant and set on 9.3 l/min. The qualities of welds were tested with visual control, industrial radiology, along with bend and tensile test. Our tests results showed us that presence of hydrogen affects welds and make them fragile.
