Immigration is still one of the most discussed topics, not only in Slovenia and in the Netherlands, but also around the world, as several countries face a growing number of immigrants. The term migration encompasses two concepts: emigration and immigration. Emigration is a process in which people leave their original society and flee to a foreign country; immigration, on the other hand, means a permanent arrival and a move-in in the immigrant society (Klinar, 1976, str. 16). In academic literature, migrations are mostly portrayed as a positive process; however, most people in certain countries do not share the same view of a migrant. The citizens of countries where migrants flee to are worried that they pose a threat to their workplaces and that they have an impact on the wage cut.
With the help of interviews conducted in two primary schools, the empirical part of the paper tries to determine how migrant children get integrated into school, how they are accepted and what support the school provides to migrant parents and their children. Also, the Mipex application, which is presented in the empirical part, was used to portray the data from the field of education; the data is later compared to our information obtained by conducting the interviews.
