The price of earthworks is most influenced by the volume of the material that is either needed for filling
up or that needs to be taken away. With the development of modern technologies, surveyors have more
options for determining volume. In the graduation thesis we dealt with some of these possibilities on a
practical example of filling up a swallow hole in the village of Tribuče. We compared data from polar
measurements, terrestrial laser scanning and airborne laser scanning. We compared the accuracy of the
results, the difficulty of work and the time it takes to carry out each of these methods.
