The Master's thesis Gulag in literature and history. The problem of fiction and factography deals with the problem of the presence of fiction and factography in historical, publicist and literary works, the proximity, and the boundary between historiography and literature. The central topic of the discussion is the analysis of Russian history, which refers to the Stalinist camps. The historical, publicist and literary works used were created in the period before the possibility of using archival material and later. The work reveals the possibilities of using historical sources and literary approaches in various genre texts. In the master's thesis I study the possibility of moving the boundaries of factography into literature and fiction into history. I have included verifiable historical data on the gulag and the biographical data of the authors: A. Applebaum, A. Solzhenitsyn, V. Shalamov and the history of the creation of their works: Gulag: History, One Day by Ivan Denisovich, Arhipelag gulag and Kolima's Story. The master's thesis raises the following questions: What is the role of fiction and factography in the creation? How important is the influence of perspective on the selected works?
