With the development of communication technology and the growth of internet use, an online presence now plays a major role in promoting both large and small companies alike. In our thesis we describe the importance of having a website and social network page for companies. The main goal was to develop a simple webpage, choose the most suitable social media network for a micro woodworking company, and create a business page on that chosen social media platform. We also tried to identify how the use of these two platforms influences customer awareness of the brand. During the process of website development we optimized the site for search engines. We concluded that building an optimized website with the use of appropriate tools is relatively fast and easy. The same is true for creating a page on Facebook, which we found to be the most appropriate social network for a micro woodworking business company. Based on the number of website visits, Facebook followers and extra inquiries, that were a direct or indirect result of online activity, we conclude that through an online presence and social media activities a company can present its business to a broader group of potential customers and achieve positive results with regard to both promotion and reputation, which are some of the main requirements for success.
