Institut rejništva: stanje in predlogi izboljšav v prid matičnim družinam

Zdi se, da rejništvo kot začasen ukrep države v Sloveniji izgublja svoj pomen, saj skoraj polovica otrok v rejništvu dočaka polnoletnost. Iz tega razloga sem se odločila, da se posvetim raziskovanju delovnega odnosa socialnih služb in matičnih družin. Zanima me, kako dosledne so socialne delavke pri svoji nalogi, da bi družinam pomagale odpraviti vzroke, zaradi katerih so jim bili odvzeti otroci. K raziskovanju tega dela me je spodbudila tudi ugotovitev, da si socialne delavke premalo prizadevajo izboljšati svojo prakso, saj ne raziskujejo dovolj in se tudi ne opirajo na rezultate raziskav na omenjenem področju, kar bom podrobneje opisala v teoretičnem delu svoje diplomske naloge. Od matičnih staršev vselej pričakujemo, da se bodo nadvse potrudili doseči zadane cilje, zato bi mogli enako pričakovati tudi od nas, ki smo za to strokovno usposobljeni. Z diplomsko nalogo želim torej ponuditi vpogled v vsakdanje življenje staršev, v njihovo doživljanje izgube otroka, jih predstaviti v drugačni luči, kot ljudi, ki so vredni in sposobni se učiti in spreminjati ter vzgojiti in varovati lastne otroke. Na njihovi poti jim želim pokazati, da ne bodo prepuščeni sami sebi in svojim ciljem, saj so tudi socialni delavci na njihovi strani.

Izvleček

It seems that foster care as a form of a temporary action taken by the government is losing its value in Slovenia. The reason behind this conclusion is the fact that almost half of the chidren sent into the system end up being there until they reach adulthood. All of the above are the reasons why I've decided to focus my research on the work related relationships between social workers and birth families. I am interested in how consistent the social workers are in helping families recognizing the reasons that led to their child being taken away, the observation that the social workers don't seem to show any interest to improve in their field, since they don't do much research and also don't rely on the results that they get by the research actually taken, which I'm going to explain in more detail in the theoretical part of the degree. We always expect from the parents to do whatever is in their power to meet the set goals which is precisely why they should expect the same from us that have proper professional training. With this degree I want to give the insight into the everyday life of the parents, their experience in losing their child, show them in a different light so we can see them as people that are worthy and capable of learning and changing, and also being able to raise and protect their children. On their journey in accomplishing that I want to show them that they are not alone in achieving their goals, since the social workers are in fact on their side.
