The purpose of my graduation thesis is to explore the effects of the Naj mladih ne vzgaja ulica Jesenice daily care centre on the life of its former users. Furthermore, I also concentrated on exploring the differences between the operation of the daily care centre until the year of 2013 and its present operation. The research is divided into five main subjects: former users’ initial contact and experience with the daily care centre, their attendance of its program, users’ life world, ideas for the development of the program, and the differences in operation of the daily care centre then and now. The research shows that the daily care centre was and still is an important protective factor for the former users. Through participation in activities of the daily care centre its users saw positive changes in their personal, educational, and social aspects of their lives, which they consider as an important benefit not only during their childhood and adolescence, but also in their current lives. Daily care centre provided its former users a safe place, where they felt welcome and encouraged to develop new friendships. They felt as they could trust and rely on daily care centre employees. The users were able to refine their personalities and receive important life advice from the daily care centre’s employees. Employees of the daily care centre are tasked with adjusting and maintaining the activities and operation of the daily care centre in accordance with the user and surrounding environment needs. They are adding new activities, its operation is being expanded throughout the Gorenjska region, they have flexible working hours. All with the intention of making the youth and the surrounding environment happier.
