The purpose of the diploma thesis arises from the question of how horse-therapy can affect the well-being of the riders and for whom it is appropriate, and what problems people with special needs face.
Therefore, in the diploma thesis, horse therapy as a form of help for people with special needs and the impact of therapeutic riding on the improvement of their psychophysical condition was presented. The differences between the various types of therapeutic riding and the goals that follow them are explained.
A horse is not only a tool for achieving the goal but a member of the therapeutic team, which at the same time helps in shaping working habits, overcoming fear, as well as strengthening self-confidence, trusting in one's own abilities, building a sense of responsibility, and recognizing and adhering to commonly set rules.
Caring for horses such as nursing, feeding and riding involve motoric skills, confidence, cooperation, friendship, communication and responsibility to a living being.
TPK is suitable for all forms of psychophysical disorders such as hyperactivity, improvement in posture, release of tight muscles, autism, for people with insufficient self-confidence, for people with reduced ability to work in the group, Down's syndrome, for persons with sensory disorders and speech problems, lighter and more difficult mobility-impaired persons, cerebral palsy, orthopedic disorders, neurological diseases ...
In our case, the focus of the speech disorder was the central problem in the first place, and we will be presented with the PINK tool in more detail below.
Based on the survey, research was planned to answer the question of whether the Horse Riding Therapeutic Center is needed in Ljubljana and why.
With the help of an online survey, we found that in Ljubljana we need a therapeutic equestrian center for people with special needs, which should be located in the vicinity of the city, at a reasonable price and well-trained therapists.
