Abstract

Title:Identifying potential crime through artificial intelligence based on photography
Abstract:
In this thesis I will be focusing mostly on describing the current state and the progress of facial recognition in the means of crime punishment, or even prevent crime through machine learning, which is provided by artificial intelligence technology. I will address the central issue of introducing this technology in the field of institutional surveillance and try to evaluate its strengths and weaknesses, especially from the point of view of the society, through which artificial intelligence is directly linked. With a little less emphasis on the historical background of the topic, I will explain why it could be important to use this technology in everyday life and, especially in modern times, inevitable. The goal of the thesis is to highlight the institutional aspects of crime prevention, before it even happens, and why is it important for every citizen. With the results of more recent studies and case studies, I will present possible improvements both at the individual level and at a wider, macro level.
