The purpose of this study is to investigate dance activites with children in preschool education institutions. I was interested in plannig dance activities, problems that come with, what is the purpose of these activites, if they are performed and how often. In theoretical part of the study the dance is presented as element of Curriculum of preschool education and role of the teacher and childrens when activities are planed and performed. In this part are introduced the meaning of dance and dance elements, aspect of dance activities, wich can be performed in different pedagogic concepts, such as Reggio Emilia, Creative movement, Midway model for introducing the art of dance in kindergarten and integration of art in learning process. Empirical part of the study investigate the results of the survey and interview, in wich participated 64 teachers from preschool institutions Pedenjped, Vrhovci and Jarše. The results were compared with other similar studies. I found out what dance activities teachers perform, what are the problems of planning and performing and what is the purpose, if dance activities are performed and how often. In kindergarten are more common simple plays and relaxing activities. Teachers are facing more problems with performing dance activities than at the planning of them. The frequent problems are lack of dance knowledge, small space and fear of failiture. The reasons that effect planning dance activities are also interests of children and dance knowledge of theachers and personal tendency to dance activities.
