Abstract
Magistrsko delo predstavlja analizo prevedenih turcizmov v sedmih različnih literarnih delih, in sicer v Gostačih (Nenada Veličkovića) v prevodu Zoje Skušek, Sari in Serafini (Dževada Karahasana) v prevodu Jane Unuk, Krsti po meri (Snježane Mulić) v prevodu Đurđe Strsoglavec, Sarajevskem marlboru (Miljenka Jergovića) v prevodu Mateje Tirgušek, Knjigi o Uni (Faruka Šehića) v prevodu Zdravka Duše, Zalezovalcih (Derviša Sušića) v prevodu Valentina Duše in Dervišu in smrti (Meše Selimovića) v prevodu Janka Modra.

Title:Representation of contemporary Bosnian and Herzegovinian society in original and translated literary texts
Abstract:
In this thesis are presented analyses of translated turkisms present in seven books: Lodgers (Nenad Veličković) translated by Zoja Skušek, Sara and Serafina (Dževad Karahasan) translated by Jana Unuk, Sanduk po mjeri (Snježana Mulić) translated by Đurđa Strsoglavec, Sarajevo Marlboro (Miljenko Jergović) translated by Mateja Tirgušek, Knjiga o Uni (Faruk Šehić) translated by Zdravko Duša, Spies (Derviš Sušić) translated by Valentin Duša and Dervish and death (Mesa Selimović) translated by Janko Moder. In these analyses, I have focused on the appropriateness of translated turkisms and on the question of whether the translator was able, using existing translations and translation methods, to transfer into the translation the cultural background of the society presented in the original. In other words, is the original cultural background of the presented society reflected in the translated work which is, in any case, familiar to the Slovenian reader? Finally, I have compared the various translations of frequently occurring turkisms present in the above mentioned works and presented them in the analysis.

Keywords:turkisms, translational methods, comparative analysis, adequacy of translation, Bosnian literature
