In the diploma thesis Interpretative compositions of video elements and 2D stylized animation different ways of how author can tell a story to audience through 2D animation supported by video elements are described. The purpose of this work is to explore techniques of how messages can be delivered by creating and displaying a story, and finally, to create a practical example. The theoretical part describes the process from the development of an idea, concept and basic elements of the story to the narrative of this story through compositional recommendations. There are examples where authors with the right use of composition strongly supported the content of the story; additionally, the reference animations from which derives the inspiration for the final product are shown. In the practical part, all the important steps in the production of animation are presented. First, description of the story itself, the script and then transformation of words into an image grid. When creating the storyboard, the purpose of the frames and compositions is described. The development of the character, his visual representation and stylization of other forms on the scene with the usage of various elements in the Adobe Illustrator program are presented. In brief, the process of filming video elements, their implementation into animation and animation of the created forms in Adobe After Effects are shown. The result is a two-minute animation, which in addition to the basic story tries to give an extra message. In the discussion, the product is also analyzed and the options for improvement are presented.
