My bachelor thesis centres on creating a wildlife illustration portraying the Mura river, its oxbow lakes and typical flora and fauna. I illustrate four separate endangered species that are typical for the habitat of the Mura river. The hypothesis I explore in the thesis states that wildlife illustrations can help people become aware of the importance of the environment. In the theoretical part of the thesis, I research the domain of wildlife illustration as well as its history and list some of the more important historical and modern authors of such works. I analyse their works and extract their common characteristics.
