The diploma work presents four procedures for acquiring the status of the disabled person, which are regulated by the Pension and Disability Insurance Act (ZPIZ-2), Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities Act (ZZRZI), Social Inclusion of Disabled Persons Act (ZSVI) and War Disability Act (ZVojI). Nowadays a detailed analysis of the procedure is necessary, especially when the number of people with disabilities is larger every year, and is primarily intended for people with disabilities to understand the process itself. An analysis of the basic sectoral laws in the field of disabled people and a detailed description of the procedure can also help the authorities authorized to conduct the procedure for obtaining the status of a disabled person.
In the theoretical part, the method of description, analytical and comparative methods of work are used to verify the hypothesis. The analysis of the procedure for acquiring the status of a disabled person showed that the three procedures were regulated in a legal manner in a way that they were running according to their purpose, while the procedure conducted under the ZSVI was not properly regulated at the time of the survey. A statistical method of work was used to verify the second hypothesis. The empirical analysis of the considered applications for obtaining the status of a disabled person in the period 2016-2018 is presented, showing that in the mentioned period the majority of applications were
dealt with at the Institute for Pension and Disability Insurance, and the minority the administrative units in the field of war invalids.
