This paper presents panoramic photography as a technique for creating wide-angle photographs. The history of photography and panoramic photography are reviewed to cover the simultaneous development and progress of panoramic photography. Different possibilities for creating panoramic photos are presented, together with a description of the individual steps and required equipment. The advantages and the broad fields of application and further manipulation of panoramic photos are described. Various techniques for creating panoramic photos are presented and described, with an emphasis on the rules of taking purpose-made photographs and combining them into a single panorama. Adobe Photoshop, which has been chosen to prepare the project, is presented in detail. The technical equipment and the process of taking photographs and then stitching them together using Hugin is presented. Hugin’s applicability is compared to Photoshop and the Photomerge command, which is used for combining several photographs into one. Finally, the photo manipulation process of the panoramic photograph, which was used to create the “Mali svet” creative image, is described.
