The purpose of the thesis is to show the uniqueness of Cuba and Cubans, who impressed me during my travel on the island. The aim is also to show the reader the role of the photography in creating the bigger picture of one country and its locals. After all, photography means more than thousand words.
The thesis is divided into three parts – the theoretical part, the practical part and the discussion.
The theoretical part is about photography, its evolution throughout history, the role of the photography, travel photography and its main representatives, some examples of travel photography and in the end Cuba with its history.
The practical part introduces the equipment used to take photos during traveling, programs used for improving the photos. The traveling plan is introduced and also how the photo book was made.
In the discussion, my travel photographs of Cuba are presented – not chronologically as in the photo book, but each place separately with my view of the photograph. The photo book and its design are also introduced, since I have made it myself.
Appendix to the diploma is the travel photo book of Cuba.
