The Ljubljana Puppet Theatre was founded in 1948 and the first performance was on 10th
October that year; it was first called the City Puppet Theatre. From 1948 to 2008 it underwent
several changes, such as changes of name, different aesthetics, changes to the central location
of puppet theatre (since 1984 it permanently resides at Mestni dom (Civic Home), located on
Krekov Square). In the period from 1948–2008 were three significant hits appeared: The Skip
Mouse by Svetlana Makarovi~, The Little Sleepy Star by Frane Mil~inski and Marogica the
Ball by Jan Malik.
