In the cutting process of MDF composite material, because of the fraction between the work piece and tool, heat develops, which warms the tool. Excessive heat is generally the consequence of unsiutable combination of processing parameters. The influence of density and kinematics of technological parameters on the temperature of cutting tools in the process of MDF continual turning was analysed. Wood turning experiment was performed on the Centauro TC 1200 lathe. For the processing a turning tool with a cutter of K05 carbide steel was used. The temperature was measured with an E type thermal element, placed between the cutting plate and tool bearer. The data on temperature were collected using the measurment PCI-6014 card, placed in a personal computer. The software, used for the measurment and control of all parameters, was designed by LabView. The analysis shows the temperature to be in a close correlation to the technological parameters of cutting, in our case the feed and cutting speed, and the density of the work material, as physical parameters. The temperature of the tool is in positive correlation to both, feeding speed and density of material. The cutting speed has a very incisive and insignificant influence on the temperature of the tool.
