Introduction: The fracture of the distal part of the radius is one of the most common fractures in humans, most often in women. Signs of broken bone are the pain when moving and at the pressure, reduced flexibility, swelling and weakened muscle strength. The main cause of fracture is falling, and a frequent complication after fracture is complex regional pain syndrome. We can use various operational techniques as a treatment, or we use the conservative way of relocating the fracture and casting. Recommended are cooling, diadynamic currents, moving, joint mobilization, transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation, magnetotherapy and active exercises. Purpose: The purpose of the thesis is to present the physiotherapeutic treatment and its effectiveness in the patient after fracture of the distal part of the radius with dorsal angulation. Methods of work: The thesis is a report on the case of physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient after a fracture of the distal part of the radius with dorsal angulation. Presented is a nine-day physiotherapeutic treatment, the physiotherapeutic procedures used, problems, as well as short-term and long-term goals, are described. Results: After nine physiotherapeutic treatments, set short-term goals were met. The range of flexibility in the wrist joint, the proximal and distal radioulnar joints improved, the pain reduced, the perimeter over the processus styloideus of the radius and ulna decreased by 0,5 cm, the perimeter measured 4 cm proximal from the processus styloideus of the radius reduced by 0,1 cm, and the hand-picking capacity increased by an average of 3,5 kg. Muscle strength did not improve significantly, contractions remained weak and painful, and the function rating of the questionnaire Quick disabilities of the arm, shoulder and hand raised for 31,8 points. Also, the physiotherapeutic rating reduced the pain according to the visual analog scale, from the initial grade 5 to the final grade 3. Discussion and conclusion: After the completion of nine physiotherapy treatments, most of our short-term goals were achieved, indicating that the selected physiotherapy procedures were appropriate. The combination of kinesiotherapy, manual therapy, electrotherapy, thermotherapy and health education has helped us to be successful with physiotherapy treatment.
