Master thesis tries to open a space for reflection on the interconnection between environmental discourses and aesthetisation of nature. In the thesis through the network of power relations I am exploring visual representations that form part of dominant social relations, ideologies and norms about environment and nature. I try to identify reformatory visual understanding of nature and place it in comparison with more radical forms of visual understandings of nature. The intention of the thesis is to place aesthetisation as the central point of discursive understanding of nature. At the same time the thesis tries to show different form of aesthetisation which allows agents the change in consciousness and move in the direction of radical environmental discourses. A different aesthetic attitude towards nature means different (political) action, different inclusion into social context and different attitude towards society and nature.
