The thesis focuses on the image of nations in Doberdob, a novel of a Slovene author Prežihov Voranc. The first part of the thesis contains an introduction on author's life and his work. Furthermore, the thesis concentrates on the genesis of the novel and provides a short synopsis. The main part of the thesis pinpoints the historical background and imagology. In that part a summary of Daniel-Henri Pageaux's theory is presented and in the end the focus shifts to individual nations in the novel.
