Like elsewhere in the world, also Slovenian organizations are coming of age recognizing, that for good and successful work engaged and satisfied employees are necessary. In this context, I wanted to examine the relationship between satisfaction and engagement in this diploma thesis. In the theoretical part of the diploma thesis I review the literature about the definition and the treatment of two concepts. I examined the factors that influence engagement and job satisfaction in the workplace, and the methods of their measurement. In empirical part I presented my own research about the measurement of engagement and satisfaction of employees in the selected organization. For the measurement of the engagement I applied standardized Q12 questions, to measure satisfaction I applied standardized SiOK questions. Due to the large differences between employees I performed separate analysis for white and blue collars. For each group, I checked how much engagement and satisfaction overlap and complement each other.
