Human resource management is a strategic partner in an international company. Human resource manager has an important role, possesses certain competences and also deals with talent management as a part of their tasks. The organization must have capable, committed and motivated employees, because human capital is a source of competitive advantage and only with them it can achieve the strategic plan. Competences are those that link the strategy of human resources and their potential development. Our goal was to explore this area, define the challenges of the international company and explore the development of employees and their competences, and also to show the competencies of the human resource manager that he needs at his work in an international company. We found out the answers to these questions through an analysis of current scientific and professional literature and we included an empirical part which includes analysis of the internal sources of the investigated company and analysis of the interview conducted with the human resources manager in an international company.
