Replacement of metal load-bearing elements with polymeric ones is nowadays increasingly common in many engineering applications. This thesis deals with a housing of a measuring instrument made out of polyphenyl sulphide and glass fibers, which must be resistant to high pressures.
The goal was to make a housing that will hold the maximal pressure load, by changing the process parameters of injection molding. The study was limited to changing the holding pressures up to 80 MPa. Samples of the housings that were prepared at various holding pressures were tested up to destruction. The best results were obtained at a holding pressure of 65 MPa.
