With the development of new technologies, it is necessary to increase the level of safety and health at work. In addition to accidents, ergonomically inappropriate work can also lead to damage to the musculoskeletal system as a result of inappropriate body postures. On the basis of video the analysis of body postures with the OWAS observing method in the traditional and mechanized mode of production of firewood was performed. The results of the research have shown that in comparison with mechanized mode of production of firewood harmful postures in the tradicional mode of production of firewood decreased by 0,47 % in the case when the worker performs the work itself and for 18,04 %, when assisted by co-worker. According to the results of the need for the further development of newer technologies with a view to the reduction of the adverse postures at work.
