The thesis entitled "A comparative analysis of human resource management in private non-profit and for-profit organisations" takes a deep dive into the process of human resource management in major Slovenian for-profit and private non-profit organisations. For this reason, I presented the theoretical framework of the human resource management process in for-profit and private non-profit organisations and tried to determine both the similarities and differences between the two. A particular emphasis was placed on the forms of motivation and, consequently, remuneration of the employees. The empirical part therefore compared the interviews of co-workers responsible for human resource management in three major Slovenian private non-profit and three for-profit organisations. For-profit organisations who agreed to be interviewed were Abanka and two other organisations who wished to remain anonymous. Private non-profit organisations who were willing to participate in the research were Zveza Sonček, Slovenska Filantropija and Šent. The employee at Šent provided the answers in writing. In the last part of my research, I partially confirmed the hypothesis that was used as a starting point for the research. It can therefore be concluded that the methods of employee motivation between for-profit and non-profit organizations differ, while in both types of organizations they devote a strong emphasis to diverse approaches and techniques of employee motivation.
