This Master’s thesis presents the development of a new magnetic refrigeration pump system, which would significantly contribute to improving the efficiency of this new technology. For this purpose, we reviewed the current situation in this field, studied the created prototypes, and pointed out the important characteristics which would improve the existing pump systems. At the beginning of the research and development process, we made a table with construction requirements and objectives, where we laid out all the fundamental functions. Based on these requirements, we prepared a functional structure of the device and analysed it in detail to determine the process of operation. Furthermore, we created a morphological matrix, which was used to prepare several concepts. After evaluating these concepts, we were able to select the one that was the most appropriate. We prepared a device draft for the selected concept, based on which the device was designed and experimentally analysed under different operating conditions. By doing this, we determined the optimal parameters for future tests of the pumping characteristic of the device.
