The master’s thesis deals with the model and software tool Tranus, which is an integrated land use and transport modelling system. The model was presented by Tomas De la Barra in the 1980s in the book Integrated land use and transport modelling, which is the basis for the descriptions of theoretical bases in the thesis. The author and the group Modelistica are still developing and upgrading the model and software tool today – it is therefore a modern and handy tool for creating models that use spatialeconomic models for the prediction of land use.
The first part of the dissertation presents the software tool, general structure of the model and the development of the model. Below is a detailed description of the two main components of the model - the system of activities or the model of land use and the transport system or the traffic model, which are mutually connected and in balance. The master’s thesis is concluded with a description of the graphic interface and the presentation of an integrated land use and transport model of Ljubljana and its surroundings. In this regard, the impact of the opening of the Šmarje - Sap motorway junction on the prices of real estate, rents, traffic flow and load and location of activities and population is determined.
