There are various frameworks for planning and designing applications that offer tools and processes for developing various applications for end-users. Depending on who our users are, we can choose between development for »user«, »person«, »human« or »consumer«. All these methods of development are suitable for their own purpose, but they cannot be used when developing products or applications aimed for a multigenerational family. When developing family applications, we have to take into account relationships, characteristics and position of individual family members and the relationship they have within the family. User-centered design and development, and recommendations on what should be taken into consideration when developing applications for families is presented in the diploma thesis. The methodology developed and used for testing the application with users is presented. Web application was developed within the program EkoSmart. The program and especially project ”Active living and wellbeing” is presented in detail in later chapters. The main part of the thesis presents the development phases and detailed technical description of the application. The results of user testing, their analysis and future plans are presented in the last section.
