In our thesis we developed various concepts of modern workstations. For the basis of our research we took traditional workstations produced by different manufacturers. Firstly, we defined required and desired specifications for modern workstations according to market demands. After that the functional structure of assembly process was designed. It includes all the associated subsystems of the workstation, which are visualization, lifting systems, lighting, grab containers and the construction of a work place with a working desk. For each of subsystems we created a morphological matrix; based on that, we selected the three most acceptable concepts. They were evaluated according to the ergonomic principles, which are focused on a design that is the most acceptable for the worker. After that we chose the most appropriate concept, which is also suitable for industrial applications. Selected concept enables to work on a modern workstation based on principles of ergonomics, it offers quick adaptation to new products and consequently increases the efficiency of the workplace.
