Balance between professional and private life is the key to success of any individual’s life with children and family. With this thesis I want to find out how parents of children under the age of seven manage to balance professional and private obligations and what are the positive and negative variables that mostly contribute to this balance.
In the theoretical part of the thesis are definitions of formal and informal work, basic European and national legislation, and the role and importance of institutions in the field of balancing professional and family responsibilities. In the empirical part is a presentation of my own research among parents with children under seven years of age. Findings and interpretations of obtained results, which imply to overburdened parents with official obligations and lack of family quality time are given.
