Employees are a reflection of each organisation. Satisfied and motivated employees contribute to increased productivity and success of the organisation, and vice versa. One of the main tasks of a manager should be motivating the employees, because it has a big impact on both the work of each individual as well as the organisation as a whole.
The thesis examines the area of motivation of employees. The first part is a theoretical explanation of the description method and compilation method related to the definition of motivation, followed by a presentation of the motivation model, motivational theories and the very motivation of employees. Next part presents the organisation in which the research was conducted. In the empirical part with the help of the statistical method, data were collected and processed based on a survey handed out in the organisation. The state of motivation is presented based of the analysed data, following with the suggestions for improvements in the area of employee management.
Obtained results are positive. In general, employees are motivated to do their job, satisfied with the reward system of their superiors and have good interpersonal relationships. Based on the research employees give greater emphasis on non-monetary rather than monetary way of rewarding. For even better results, the organisation’s leadership must focus on it. The leadership of the organisation will therefore increase the satisfaction and motivation of employees, with factors such as exposure of achievements and successes, the ability to manage projects, attention from the leaders and similar.
